Working in Australia

Working Temporarily
For people with recognized skills seeking to work in Australia after being sponsored by an Australian or overseas employer. For lawfully operating Australian and overseas employers to sponsor and employ skilled workers who have recognized qualifications and skills/or experience in particular occupations required in Australia. Applicants for these visas seeking to work for an Australian employer must be sponsored by their employer. For lawfully operating Australian and overseas employers to employ approved skilled workers for temporary vacancies in particular occupations required in Australia.

1) Temporary Business Long Stay – Standard Business Sponsorship
A program for employers to sponsor approved skilled workers to work in Australia on a temporary visa. Validity 3monts to 4 years. Used for work or study.

2) Service Sellers
For representatives of overseas suppliers of services who are negotiating, or entering into, agreements to supply their services in Australia under the General Agreement on Trade and Services (GATS). Can stay 3 to 6 months, can bring a secondary applicant, who can work or study.

3) Medical Practitioner visa
Doctors should generally apply for a Temporary Business (Long Stay) visa but this visa is an alternative for doctors registered to work in Australia. For 3 months to 4 years, should be trained in overseas or overseas students studied medical courses. Family members can work or study.

4) Educational visa
For educational workers to be employed in Australia on a temporary basis. The sponsoring organisation must be an Australian tertiary education or research institution, school or technical college.

5) Labor Agreements
Formal arrangements for an Australian industry group or employer to recruit a specified number of skilled workers on a temporary or permanent basis over a number of years.

6) Invest Australia Supported Skills Program
This program provides for entry of key personnel of overseas based international firms making a significant investment in Australia.
